It's been about 5 months since I've updated this blog --- that's nearly half a year.
Obviously, many things have happened since I last wrote here, but I'll keep it short.
Basically, after going back-and-forth, up-and-down, tossing-and-turning, I'm back in Korea for another year. I'm here through the same program, the Ful-bright US Student Program.
I'm typing this away 15 minutes before my 2nd official day of teaching begins.
Where am I?
I'm in Daegu, the 3rd (?) biggest city in South Korea. I teach at Cheonggu Middle School, an all boys school in the heart of Daegu City. I'm living at a homestay family that owns a popular Kalbi (Korean BBQ) restaurant in town, and I am walking distance from the KTX (Korea high-speed rail) and bus terminals.
It's another year of the same program, but everything is brand new. First of all, it's the first-time for my school to have a Native English teacher. It's also the first time for my homestay family to host an english teacher. It's my first time teaching from a text book, and my first time living in a Metropolitan city in South Korea.
This makes for quite a different experience. I will cherish this year, and I also ask for your prayer support. I need to get my priorities in order as I get this year started. I have to run to class, so a general prayer will do. G-d already knows what I need, anyway. Just pray, "L-rd, will you please take care of Daniel this year?" and that is sufficient.
I'm reading a devotional by Andrew Murray on John Chapter 15 and learning to remain in the vine. That's what I really need right now.
Thanks for reading, and cheers to a new year.
